When we decided to have a second floor added to our home and remodel our first floor, KRD Builders was our first choice for contractors. We knew Kenny to have a solid reputation for doing quality work. We also wanted someone who would pay attention to our budget. He came through on both. He started the project when he said he would start.
They came on time everyday, and left the jobsite clean, safe and orderly at the end of each day. Anytime we had questions, they answered them promptly and confidently, convincing us we had made the right choice.
Our project was on time with his time line estimates and we were treated with nothing but respect by Kenny, and his sub-contractors. The honesty with which he portrayed the entire process was very reassuring. (It’s important to note that we lived in the house during the entire project.) We knew what to expect as he explained that our home and yard would be a construction site, but Ken and his staff always treated it like someone’s home, sometimes even seeming as though it was one of their own homes
They were very flexible about some changes we asked for “on the fly” and were not afraid to think outside of the box. We feel very fortunate to have had Kenny do our project and are thrilled with the end result. It’s easy to see he loves what he does. We would not hesitate to call him again for any construction/remodeling project in the future.

Five years ago my wife and I got relocated to New Hampshire by our company. In our first 4 years of marriage we had built a house and bought a house, and now were looking at trying to find another home, but from a distance, with a young family. Our first build in Mass. had been a nightmare, with serious hostility and deceitful practices from our builder, so the concept of building again was not high on our list. However, the market was hot and we could not find what we wanted for a price we could afford, so we started meeting with builders as well. The rest, for us, is history. We have now built our second home with Ken and recommended him to countless equally as thrilled customers. …and I would do it again, if Ken had not already built us our dream home. Why?
First and foremost, Ken is all about integrity and honesty. No matter what you are building, a custom home can eat you alive financially. Ken is always in your corner, working to save you money, and honest as the day is long. When we told him we needed our first KRD home fast, he gave his word and made it happen, without sacrifices. When we came to closing on our new home, Ken told me the number and I wrote him a check. No hold back, no concerns. Whatever details we had pending I knew would be fairly and accurately dealt with.
Also very important to us was quality. We are not real estate novices. We’ve seen the good and bad construction, and Ken is one of the finest. He is a seasoned builder who does not take shortcuts. We have been very satisfied with Ken’s homes and have had many a tradesman independently validate his quality and substantiate our belief that Ken is as picky as we are about his work.
What really blew us away in our first Ken Dionne home, and doubly so in our new home, was the level of craftsmanship. Ken adds some really great touches to his homes, unique and thoughtfully tailored to the client. Ken actually brought a client through our current home as a sampler, as he didn’t think they had enough detail in their new construction (by the way, this was detail to be added at Ken’s cost – not the clients) and he wanted them to be happy.
Lastly, Ken builds a home, not a house. He worked with us every step of the way to creating our dream home, with major revisions to the original design, cost sensitive construction, innovative technology usage, green building techniques, and willingness to listen to what we really wanted. We are really, really picky, but Ken never skipped a beat throughout the whole project. It was always all about us, and what more can you ask for?
When Peggy and I first sat down with Kenny, we went over everything about what it was going to take to get our house built. We gave him our plans with a time table for completion, and later he presented us with the proposal and the projected costs involved.
As the process unfolded, Peggy and I kept throwing him curves, by little changes that we realized we wanted from time to time. But, Kenny was more than willing to work with us so that we would be satisfied with the end result. I’m sure that we drove him more than a little crazy with this! Some of the changes were ones that put the cost over and above the original estimate, but we were not in the dark about that because he kept us apprised of them. He didn’t want us to have any big surprises in the end.
We ended up selling the house we were living in, and closing on it by the date that we told Kenny that we wanted the construction completed by, and he didn’t let us down. Our time table was met!
As with anything, there have been a few things that have needed tweaking since we moved into our new home, but Kenny was always there to take care of them for us, even to this date almost 4 years later, and all that with no charge to us. The relationship we built through the experience has endured. We keep in touch fairly regularly, and are now friends.

Ken is a great guy to deal with. We had a fire in 2003 destroying our home. We drove around looking at houses being built to obtain numbers of builders. We made 17 calls and received 3 responses(economy was good at the time). When the other builders heard fire they seemed to shy away from the job. Fortunately Ken was compassionate enough to take on the task. From day one it was clear that Ken was an honest man allowing us into his home to view his work. He tells you how it is and follows thru with his promises. We have been back in our house for 5+ years and recently had a 3 stall garage added. Again Ken was a pleasure to deal with and was always on time. Friends, family and co-workers have made comments regarding the quality of KRD's work. I highly recomend KRD for any of your building needs.

Building a home they say is more a headache than anything else but this is what my husband and I planned to do rather that buying a builder grade house.
When it came time to build our ’’ Dream Home’’ we began looking for the Perfect builder who will understand and address all our needs ,will be easy to work with and someone who will build us a home and not just a House. Ken Dionne was the first builder we met and we liked him a lot but since we did not want to make a hasty decision we met with about six more builders but no one seemed right. We decided to meet with Ken again and at that point everything was crystal clear. Ken Dionne was the builder we wanted to work with. The moment we saw his work in other homes we knew we found the “perfect builder”.
Ken and his team worked hand in hand with us throughout the construction ……… always open to our ideas and suggestions. Ken’s tremendous attention to details and his team’s workmanship makes our home stand out……..from the coffered ceiling to the crown moldings…………..breathtaking! They started and finished the entire project on a timely basis and they made sure we moved in on time. They truly take pride in what they do.
We have been in our home for 3yrs now and even today Ken is always there if we need him. This gives us a sense of security and we know that our home is in good hands. Building this house has truly been a pleasure and fun experience and we would build another home with Ken……”IN A HEARTBEAT”. Infact, we had Ken and his team come back to finish our basement and put a few more additions.

For those of you considering Ken Dionne as your builder, here are a few details you may find of value.
I decided to buy land and build my own home – a first time for us. I was extremely thorough in the research I conducted and the specs I developed – in the attempt to screen and select a suitable builder (“suitable” defined in part, as experienced, honest, qualified, professional, bright and with a good track record).
I developed a 22 page “RFP” (“Request for Proposal”), contacted approximately 20 builders, asked them to review my requirements / thoughts and respond with details and a competitive bid.
Most of the builders failed to respond at all. A few told me that they build a house according to their specs, not mine (and “take it or leave it”). Three did in fact take the time to respond.
Only one response however, was worthwhile – Ken Dionne’s. His response was thorough and professional. Further, he asked questions and gathered detailed responses from me to help him frame a useful and accurate proposal. More importantly, Kenny set a tone in his dealings with me which was friendly, cooperative and professional with an overall “aim-to-please” mentality.
His professional and friendly attitude was properly complimented by the fine quality of his work. My specs were challenging and comprehensive – and Kenny not only rose to the occasion but pointed out areas where my specs and approach could be improved.
The result was a well-built home and one of which we are proud.
The home is now 17 years old (“new”) and looks great. It has clearly stood the test of time, when homes built by certain other builders (as I have been told) – have been northing but problematic.
I would work with Kenny again in the construction of another home and readily recommend Kenny to anyone searching for a competent builder.
